Join the team that is revolutionizing Apple Watch! The Messages team on watchOS is looking for an energetic and creative software engineer to build experiences that keep the world securely connected. Work on building features like Voice Dictation, Emoji Tapbacks, Text Effects, and carrier features like RCS. You will have the opportunity to work closely with iOS Counterparts as well as many other teams across Apple. We deliver experiences that shape how the world communicates and make it so simple they can do it from their wrist.DescriptionAs part of the Messages team on Apple Watch, you will have many responsibilities relating to the design, development, and testing of the device software. Responsibilities include: - Working with designers to turn ideas into meaningful prototypes, and demoing them to stakeholders. - Writing high quality, well tested, and performant code to develop those prototypes into polished, Apple-level experiences that we’re proud to ship. - Architect systems that are extensible, adaptable, and stand the test of time. - Profile and optimize cutting-edge features to run well on a low-powered, highly-constrained device. - Work daily with quality assurance teams to find and fix all the bugs, edge cases, and performance issues that impact the user experience.Minimum QualificationsProficiency in Objective-C or Swift.Proven experience contributing to at least one application or framework.A consistent track record of delivering projects on time and within specifications.Familiarity with systems and hands-on experience with inter-process communication.Experience optimizing applications and profiling across the entire stack.Adaptability, results orientation, and a positive attitude.Excellent communication and collaborative skills.Attention to detail.Preferred QualificationsExperience improving and expanding on existing complex projects and systems.Experience defining and driving large scale projects across different levels of the stack.Experience with both SwiftUI and UIKit lifecycle apps.Pay & BenefitsAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $135,400 and $250,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
