Position Summary

Reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources North America, the Director, HR Business Partner Commercial Operations North America is responsible for designing and leading effective, harmonized, HR practices and processes reflecting the Company's mission, vision, values, and strategies.

The Director, Human Resources will ensure the execution of HR policies and design - development and implementation (and maintenance) of strategic initiatives supporting a high performing Commercial Sales, Regional Marketing, and Services organization, assist Executive level leaders and their teams and employees with day-to-day HR activities and compliance, and work with leadership to ensure HR programs and initiatives are enhancing the delivery of business results.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Partner with HR Business Partners, Business Leaders, and Corporate HR to understand business needs and priorities, translating them into executable strategies that align with organizational goals as they relate to HR process and practice, reporting and analytics, and overall HR functional excellence.
  • Provide HR leadership to assigned functional leaders across the North America go-to-market functions including the North America Commercial Sales and Marketing team, LTG and Flow Cytometry sales, Luminex/Molecular Marketing, and other assigned areas.
  • Lead by example and act as change leader and advocate to enhance the employee experience across the company.
  • Develop and track metrics related to the progress and success of functional deliverables and initiatives, communicating value and results to the organization.
  • Using project management skills, serve in the capacity of Project Manager or Sponsor for key projects.
  • Support the HR Business Partners with the auditing of key HR processes and drive compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Serves as a member of the HR Leadership team in North America.
  • Provide constructive feedback to assigned personnel through written and verbal communication regarding performance, quality requirements, and safe work habits.
  • Promote and maintain a flexible, cooperative, team oriented, and customer focused attitude within and between departments.


Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Education and Abilities :
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management or comparable; Advanced degree and SPHR certification is desirable.
  • At least ten years of experience in Human Resources professional role, including multi-unit business environment and systems management; including 3+ years of Management experience directing HR or Administrative departments.
  • Experience and relevant knowledge to lead and advise in various HR functional areas including Business Partnerships, Compensation/Benefits, Talent Acquisition, Retention, Employee Relations, and HRIS.
  • Understanding of HR processes and cross-functional dependencies.
  • Strong project management skills, including solution implementation.
  • Ability to think strategically and act tactically.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across the organization at all levels, across functional groups and geographic locations, including executive management. Working in complex matrix environment a plus.
  • Successful at influencing without direct authority or power. Self-driven, capable of figuring out what needs to be done and making it so.
  • Strong communications planning, and written and verbal skills, including the ability to prepare reports and present to various groups.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively impact and manage conflict and change with presence and credibility in the organization.
  • Advanced expertise with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrated sound judgment and the ability to make decisions.
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a complex environment.
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations and policies pertaining to HR & Payroll related items.
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation. High ethical standards; honest; values loyalty.
  • Leads by example and is an ambassador for the company both internally and externally.
  • Comprehensive organization, motivation, human relations, records keeping, problem-solving and follow-through skills.
  • Successful track record in creating a high-performance culture and building leadership bench strength. Able to build strong mutually beneficial relationships and achieving results through empowering people.
  • Thrive in environments where it is both a management and a hands-on role that allows you to personally contribute while you are building and coaching your team.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing a plus
  • Excellent listening skills with an ability to recognize and reward loyalty, hard work, customer service and teamwork
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to interface effectively with all functions and at all levels of the organization. Able to foster an open communication style and value the dignity of all people.
