The Department's aim is to create a more cohesive, equitable, and effective early childhood system in New Mexico. That means coordinating a continuum of programs from prenatal to five¿and ensuring that families in every corner of the state can access the services they need.Interviews will be conducted within two weeks of closing date. Why does the job exist?This position supports the Early Childhood Education and Care Department's (ECECD) Chief Health Officer and the Health, Prevention, and Wellness Director. It involves collecting, cleaning, and analyzing complex health-related data sets. These include data on neonatal substance exposure, Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Act (CARA) plans of care, home visiting, families FIRST, early intervention, child welfare, adverse childhood experiences, and other health and wellness data for the prenatal to five population. This position will involve preparing data-driven reports, collaborating with the Children's Cabinet on the Thriving Families plan and the annual report, identifying trends and issues in prenatal to five health and wellness, and developing data-driven plans to support ECECD's strategic objectives. The role also requires collaboration with the ECECD leadership team, the Early Childhood Comprehensive Systems (ECCS) Advisory Council, and the Children's Cabinet. Additionally, the position will contribute to creating data visualization tools to make information accessible to the public. How does it get done?This position will collect, review and analyze data sets related to prenatal to five health and wellbeing to support the work of the ECECD health and wellness team. The role includes creating data-driven reports, fact sheets, presentations, and other documents that clearly and understandably display the data. Additionally, this position supports the thriving families coordinator in developing shared cross-agency measures with the Children's Cabinet to measure the outcomes of the thriving families work. Who are the customers?This position will operate under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO), providing support to the health team, including the Health Prevention and Wellness Director, Thriving Families Coordinator, Family and Community Engagement Coordinator, and CARA Navigator. Additionally, it will collaborate with the Children's Cabinet, the Children's Cabinet Director, and the ECECD leadership team. Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and excel at collaborating within a team to achieve shared goals and objectives. They will have experience with data visualization dashboards and report creation. Minimum QualificationBachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business or Public Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or other related field with four (4) years of experience directly related to position at time of posting or related professional certification as determined by the hiring agency. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field andor direct experience in this occupation totaling eight (8) years may substitute for the required education and experience. Employment RequirementsMust possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Pre-employment background investigation is required and is conditional pending results. Working ConditionsWork is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage.
