Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Phlebotomist to join our Family Practice Clinic. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing venipunctures and other specimen collections on patients of all ages, from pediatrics to geriatrics. This role involves processing samples, charting patient and sample information, and ensuring accurate data entry into our computer system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform venipunctures and other specimen collections (blood, urine, etc.) on patients ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics.
- Manage a daily patient load of 25-35 individuals, ensuring efficient and compassionate care.
- Process and prepare collected samples for laboratory analysis.
- Accurately chart patient and sample information into the computer system.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety and infection control protocols.
- Communicate effectively with patients, explaining procedures and addressing any concerns.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Certification as a Phlebotomist (CPT) or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1+ years of experience in a clinical setting, preferably in Clinics, Urgent Cares, and Hospitals
- Proficiency in venipuncture and specimen collection techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and sample processing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Bilingual Spanish/English is a PLUS.
- Can have plasma experience, but not most recently.
- Full-time position - Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm (no weekends)
- Patient demographic is helping in an underserved and underprivileged community.
- Exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and other potentially infectious materials.
- Requires standing for extended periods and performing repetitive tasks.
