Description:

We are seeking a talented individual to join our North America General Ledger Controllership team at Marsh McLennan. This role will be based in Urbandale, Iowa. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

The North America General Ledger Controllership team is responsible for general ledger transactional accounting and financial reporting.

We will count on you to:
  • Oversee accountability for day-to-day accounting processes and systems, ensuring accurate processing, recording, and reporting of financial information.
  • Assist with the maintenance and improvement of the internal control environment including general adherence and knowledge of SOX controls and external audit procedures, as applicable.
  • Delegate, review, approve, and on occasion, may prepare requests for ad hoc analysis of various types of financial information utilizing operational and financial analytics as appropriate for the situation.
  • Provide direct supervision, leadership, and mentoring to accounting staff.
  • Responsible for driving the engagement and culture of the team.
  • Understand the financial strategies, plans of the business, and serve as consultant to management on processes with financial implications, financial plans, and business performance.
What you need to have:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
  • 3+ years of leadership experience
  • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with both clients and colleagues in a fast-moving professional team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications including advanced Excel knowledge.
