Technical Accounting Manager Job at Tandym Group in Morristown

A recognized services company in New Jersey is currently seeking an experienced Accounting professional to join their team as their new Technical Accounting Manager.

Responsibilities:
The Technical Accounting Manager will:

• Research the impact of new or proposed accounting standards, interpretations or regulations from the SEC, FASB, AICPA, and EITF
• Prepare timely, high quality white papers on all key technical matters for submission to the independent auditors and internal stakeholders and manage the timely resolution of financial reporting implications
• Assist in preparing and maintaining an up-to-date library of accounting policies and procedures
• Research business development technical accounting matters (both under US GAAP and IFRS) that could impact the estimated valuation of proposed transactions
• Assist with review of new contracts and assess the accounting implications based on existing accounting standards, interpretations or regulations
• Coordinate with business leadership on inquiries related to the application of accounting policies and other technical accounting matters, such as revenue recognition, leases, insurance recoveries, and asset impairments
• Manage the coordination with external auditors and internal auditors to ensure timely resolution of outstanding matters
• Lead cross-functional meetings with business stakeholders productively and in an organized fashion, and follow up on any commitments

• 7+ years of relevant Accounting experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
• CPA required
• Experience with SEC filings
• Knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley and internal control concepts
• Ability to analyze complex information/transactions, apply appropriate accounting theory, and formulate decisions/recommendations
• Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
