Position Overview
As a Commodity Accounting Specialist, you will be at the heart of our operations, providing essential support to our assigned locations and teams. Your role will encompass a variety of responsibilities, all aimed at ensuring the successful execution of contracts, rates, and the coordination of logistical support for commodity shipments via rail, truck, and barge. Your contribution will be pivotal in driving our mission to deliver high-quality products to the market efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Contract Excellence: Immerse yourself in the world of contracts, meticulously entering data and creating contract folders. Your dedication to accuracy will ensure that our production processes are streamlined and error-free.
- Financial Finesse: Collaborate with our financial teams by assisting with invoicing, collections, and payments. Your contribution will play a vital role in maintaining healthy financial operations.
- Customer Solutions: Be the problem-solver our customers can rely on. Manage and resolve any issues that arise during commodity shipments, ensuring that our clients' needs are met with efficiency and professionalism.
- Documentation Wizardry: Take charge of reviewing receivables and payables that require additional paperwork. Your attention to detail will drive the completion of essential processing, and your proactive approach will initiate follow-up communication to keep operations running smoothly.
- A foundation of knowledge and skills acquired through relevant job training or significant experience, allowing you to confidently navigate your responsibilities.
- An enthusiasm for growth and development, even if you're at an entry level with prior experience in related areas. You're eager to learn and contribute.
- The ability to work within established procedures while showing initiative when needed. You can identify challenges, analyze them using standard procedures, and make sound decisions.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
- 1-5 years' relevant experience required
- Keyboarding 10-key skills heavily preferred
- Experience in billing, invoicing, accounts payable/accounts receivable, and contract entry & negotiation strongly preferred
