We design and manufacture the world's leading industrial and IT enclosures, racks, and accessories, including high efficiency, high-density power management, and climate control systems for industrial, data center, outdoor and hybrid applications.As the Manufacturing Engineer, you will support product development activities to specify robust packaging requirements for Rittal LLC products. Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Logistics and Assembly teams to ensure timely response and resolution for customers. Conduct packaging testing, train personnel and drive continuous improvement to achieve a World Class manufacturing environment through support of Rittal Production System (RPS).Primary Roles and Responsibilities:Support product development activities to specify robust packaging requirements for Rittal Corporation products.Frequently inspect or supervise inspection of products prior to shipping.Incorporate customer packaging and shipping requirements into Rittal Corporation systems.Follow all safety policies and procedures.Conduct packaging testing.Design and insure safe processes and workspaces.Train assembly and shipping personnel as required.Timely response and resolution of customer concerns. Must be willing to make difficult decisions to protect the best interest of the customer.Drive continuous improvement to achieve a World Class manufacturing environment through support of Rittal Production System (RPS).Aside from packaging responsibilities, the role will report through the Operations Engineering Group (Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering). Maintain relationships with Lean Manufacturing & Manufacturing Engineering Group, Production management and production personnel, Sourcing, Buying, Shipping Department and Design Engineering.Other duties may be assigned. Must have a minimum 4-year degree in Engineering with 5-10 years of packaging experience of large MTO products. Qualifications and experience:Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferable Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management or related fields Five (5) years of experience in a leadership role with a large manufacturing facility.Must have a thorough knowledge of applicable ASTM standards for packaging.Experience in direct customer interface both in planning stagesAutoCAD, Pro-E or similar modeling experience is desirable. Understanding of MRP/ERP systems and Lean methodology.
