Job Title: Chemical Manufacturing TechnicianJob Description

The Chemical Manufacturing Technician operates process equipment and utilities, using the Allen-Bradley Control System to control process operations. This role involves performing chemical reactions on a gram to multi-kilogram scale, solving common synthetic problems, and interpreting analytical data. The technician manages and tracks project progress, monitors timelines, raw materials, equipment availability, and yields to ensure project success. Additionally, the role includes preparing production areas for cGMP project initiation or changeover, producing clear documentation of all results and procedures, identifying and troubleshooting equipment problems, and using the work order system to request maintenance or improvement work.

Responsibilities

+ Operate reactor systems within various production units, including ancillary equipment such as storage tanks, waste tanks, heating/cooling units, vacuum units, and scrubber systems.

+ Use the PLC Control System for unit operation, recognize and respond to alarms or emergency situations.

+ Utilize the inventory system to properly document inventory transfers and usages.

Essential Skills

+ Experience in GMP, chemical operating, chemistry, production, and pharmaceutical API.

+ Ability to calculate basic weights, conversions, and measurements on a calculator.

+ Understanding of analytical data.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Associates Degree in Chemistry or related field with 2-4 years of experience in an API GMP manufacturing facility, OR

+ Bachelors Degree in Chemistry or related field with 0-2 years of experience in an API GMP manufacturing facility, OR

+ 3-5 years of experience with chemical operating.

Work Environment

Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) Manufacturing facility with a 2-2-3 schedule from 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Training will most likely be on the day shift rotation for 1-3 months, but candidates should be comfortable transitioning to a third shift. The company offers complementary energy drinks and coffee, regular food trucks, and semi-frequent food days. There is an internal growth plan with career trajectory opportunities, including transitioning to Quality, Laboratory, Chemical Engineering, etc., after a 2-year commitment. A bi-annual retention bonus of $2,000 and shift differential make this job highly attractive.
