POSITION PURPOSE:We are seeking an innovative and self-driven individual to lead the design and development of products and systems across multiple Activar divisions. This role requires expertise in controls and manufacturing engineering, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to quickly adapt to new technologies. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects independently with minimal supervision.This role is based out of our Bloomington, MN office but will require frequent travel to other company locations (Bloomington, Eden Prairie, Lakeville, Forest Lake in MN and Commerce, CA), as project needs dictate.There may also be opportunities for additional travel based on business requirements.The primary focus of this position will be leading the design, implementation, start-up, and commissioning of projects aimed at improving manufacturability, quality, and automation within our organization.PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:•Drive innovation by developing new technologies, systems, and tools to advance company growth and capabilities.•Lead the design of mechanical, electrical and control systems. •Collaborate with sales, manufacturing, and division leads to ensure efficient project execution, from initial objectives through to on-time delivery.•Propose, develop, and maintain both new and existing controllers for internal production equipment and customer projects.•Provide technical support for CNC programming, tooling, fixtures, and robotic processes.•Recommend process improvements to enhance worker efficiency and reduce material waste.•Coordinate and assist with third-party testing and develop test methods to ensure product quality. •Identify cost-saving measures related to manufacturing and production processes.•Collaborate with other Mechanical Engineers and Drafters to ensure design activities and goals are completed.•Maintain professionalism, adhere to company standards, and keep a clean, organized work environment.•Perform other duties as assigned.•Conduct himself/herself in a professional matter in accordance with company guidelines.•Adhere to all company standards and policies.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:•Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. •Mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in manufacturing (machining experience a plus)•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with teams across departments.•Experience in programming and debugging industrial control systems.•Ability to influence teams, think strategically, and execute with precision.•Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail.•Effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.•Tenacity in overcoming obstacles while maintaining productive and positive working relationships.•Understanding of all tools, gages, and other various instruments used to check production parts.•Ability to utilize CAD and operate, SolidWorks, Mastercam, and AutoCAD software.•PLC programming experience with Rockwell CompactLogix, MicroLogix and Omron Sysmac Studio strongly preferred.•Able to create a clear vision and think strategically.•Proven ability to influence people and teams to achieve successful results.•Exhibits high credibility and trustworthiness to co-workers, customers and to the company.•Consistent decision making with an ability to define, improve, and organize people around process.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Required:•Equivalent of high school diploma or G.E.D. certification with 5 + years of relevant experience.Preferred:•B.S.
