Job Description

The Welding Technical Specification Expert will be responsible for maintaining, globally harmonizing and updating Body in White welding equipment specifications. This position will require interaction on a global level, with European and North America technical experts, to globally communize joining equipment specifications. You Would be responsible for communizing joining equipment specifications on a global level.

The ideal candidate will have prior technical and joining equipment knowledge in a variety of applications, including:

  • Resistance spot welding
  • Projection welding
  • Drawn arc welding
  • MIG / TIG welding
  • Clinch nut joining / mechanical fastening
  • Weld guns

Qualifications

  • Prior experience with welding / joining equipment specification development
  • Ability to write, develop and maintain welding equipment specifications
  • Experience interacting with global counterparts and leading technical review meetings
  • Technical knowledge of mentioned joining processes, specifically equipment requirements
  • Knowledge of Body in White joining processes within a plant setting. Prior experience with Body in White joining processes is preferred
  • Prior experience and interaction with Materials, Process and Product Engineering for specification reviews and updates
  • Ability to use Word, Excel and PowerPoint
