Cherry Hills Country Club, founded in 1922, is a family-friendly Club with over 690 members. Racquet facilities include seven outdoor tennis courts (including two Har-Tru courts), two pickleball courts and a tennis shop featuring leading racquet and active-lifestyle brands. The Club has played host to 15 major golf championships on its renowned championship golf course, and other facilities include a full-service golf shop, practice facilities including indoor swing lounge, Par 3 course, a family pool complex with caf, junior Olympic size swimming pool, and a full-service fitness facility added as part of a major clubhouse addition in 2023.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Cherry Hills Country Club is looking for a year-round Adult League Coordinator in the Racquet Sports Department. The new Adult League Coordinator will oversee registering, running, and promoting USTA teams playing out of Cherry Hills. The league season will run from May - September.

PRIORITIES OF THE ADULT LEAGUE COORDINATOR

Before League Season Begins

  • Attend USTA league meetings.
  • Set up time(s) for captain's meetings before the season begins to update them on rule changes and to coordinate catering and schedules.
  • Create marketing for leagues that CHCC offers.
  • Order league/captain's gifts.
  • Confirm captains for each team.
  • Reach out to members from previous years to see if they would like to play in the same league again. Promote new leagues to them.
  • Reach out to members who have never played league tennis and promote different league options to them. Introduce them to captains who are looking to fill spots.
  • Reserve home match courts for teams playing at Cherry Hills on the court reservation system BallButton.
During League Season
  • Communicate with members on a weekly basis reminding them of deadlines, match makeups, etc.
  • Reports scores from captains from the previous day's matches.
  • Offer teams match warm-ups and make sure a pro is available to warm teams up the same day.
  • Gather catering information from F&B and bill members their league/catering fees once league has been completed.
Instruction
  • Responsible for teaching private and group lessons to all members.
  • Help teach junior program classes and help with junior events/tournaments.
Requirements

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate should be an engaging and polished professional with a minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Racquets Sports Professional in a private, member-owned club setting.

Key qualities include:
  • Proven ability to organize and manage USTA/Interclub teams with a verifiable, fair, and equitable system.
  • A lifelong learner, who will continue to develop his/her skill set by attending industry conferences and seminars.
  • 5.0 NTRP tennis playing competency or above is ideal.
  • Possess high energy and genuine desire to interact actively with the membership on a professional and hospitable level.
EDUCATIONAL AND CERTIFICATION QUALIFICATIONS
  • A college degree from a 4-year accredited university is preferred, or equivalent working experience in the racquets industry.
  • Working knowledge of various tennis-specific technology and software programs.
  • Must be a current, certified tennis professional with the PTR or USPTA along with PPR certification.

SALARY AND BENEFITS

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. This position also earns commission on lessons and drills. The club offers an excellent bonus and benefits package including association membership.
