As an Entry-Level Machinist, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining various machines to fabricate precision parts according to specifications. Additionally, you will receive comprehensive training and mentorship to develop the necessary skills to operate various machine tools and equipment.
Below are additional duties and responsibilities:
- Set-up and run CNC Mills or High-Speed machines, graphite or hard-cutting spindle tools or CMM machines.
- Operate manual and computer-controlled machinery such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders to fabricate parts with precision.
- Set-up and operate all hand-tool equipment along with manual tool machines.
- Monitor machine operations to ensure quality and make adjustments as necessary.
- Coordinate with specialty machining areas for specific operations or needs.
- Understand and perform quality standards, methods, usage of inspection devices, and reporting as required.
- Inspect finished products for accuracy and quality, ensuring they meet specifications and tolerances outlined in engineering blueprints.
- Collaborate with other team members and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of projects.
- Serve as a good role model to employees for safe work practices and behavior by conducting yourself professionally, keeping in mind your own safety and the safety of others.
- Any other duties as assigned.
Experience and Skills
A qualified Entry Level Machinist candidate would fulfill these requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent. Vocational training or certification in machining or related field is preferred but not required.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools.
- Basic understanding of machining principles and processes.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
