The Embassy Suites Los Angeles International Airport South is currently hiring an experienced Accounting Manager. This role is responsible for managing the audit functions in Finance staff pertaining to all computerized accounting systems, month-end closing reports and general ledger reconciliation in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability.
What will I be doing?
As an Accounting Manager, you would be responsible for managing the audit function and assists the Director of Finance in the supervision of all Finance staff pertaining to all computerized accounting systems, month-end closing reports and general ledger reconciliation n the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing, but not limited to, the following tasks to the highest standards:
- Reconcile General Ledger accounts, review discrepancies and problematic accounts and guide staff to follow-up on such accounts
- Ensure processing and accuracy of reports including, but not limited to, month-end closing, monthly forecast and variance, etc.
- Control and track inventories of operational, departmental and team member meal budgets
- Ensure the correct downloading of data into timekeeping systems
- Manage weekly submission of time and attendance data, including gratuities
- Calculate and produce daily deposit transmittals for received checks
- Manages payroll system - verify time, job codes, personal time off requests, and ensure payroll procedures are followed.
- Processes weekly payroll LMS reports, reconcile monthly balance sheet accounts, supervise HRIS coordinators, and creates training modules on payroll practices.
- Monitor and develop team member performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision and professional development, scheduling, conducting counseling and evaluations and delivering recognition and reward
- Recruit, interview and train team members

- Good working knowledge of Hospitality accounting systems.
- Strong working knowledge of NOVELL Finance Network, Excel (Advanced Macros) and Word/MS Office.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing and prepare and analyze complex financial reports and make judgments.
