Job Summary Provide high-level administrative support for an individual, group of professionals, department, program, or other administrative function. Independently perform non-routine administrative functions exercising discretion, such as coordinate events, conduct searches for information, or prepare reports. This position will provide support to the Associate Deans and Directors in the College of Health and Human Sciences' Dean's Office. This position will be a first point of contact for visitors in the office and will be responsible for answering incoming calls to the main office line and directing those calls appropriately. The position will be responsible for scheduling meetings; managing calendars; organizing events such as lunches, receptions, and retreats, both on and off campus; coordinate career fairs and workshops, handle travel arrangements and accommodations for speakers and guests and other administrative tasks. The position must pay close attention to detail, problem solve and utilize critical thinking to complete the complex tasks. Handle non-routine inquiries and issues from internal and external sources. May serve in a lead capacity for assigned program or for special projects. Professionalism, particularly in all aspects of communication is a must. Required: High school diploma/GED. Minimum of 4 years of experience in an administrative support role. Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to handle frequent interruptions, balance multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality. Strong organizational and time management skills and attention to detail. Advanced computer and related software skills to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, etc. Ability to collaborate and communicate with individuals at all levels within and external to the university to support department needs. Ability to interpret policies and procedures to proactively resolve issues or improve processes. Ability to identify problems and implement or recommend solutions. Drafting, proofreading and editing skills. Ability to lead others and provide direction and constructive feedback.
