Summary This position is located in the Division of Risk Management Supervision (RMS), Communication and Training Branch and is responsible for internal and external communication efforts for the Division, including the Community Bank Outreach program. Duties At the full performance level, major duties include: Responsible for internal and external communication efforts for the Division, including the Community Bank Outreach program. Evaluates internal and external communication proposals from other program areas within the Division and determines whether the actions proposed are adequate to inform stakeholders of material changes in regulations and procedures, as well as the significance and relevance of emerging issues. Directs changes to the internal and external websites to reflect updates in regulations, procedures, policies, events, technical assistance and other resource materials, as well as other Division and/or Corporate matters. Drafts and reviews communications documents, such as Regional Director Memorandums and Division-wide messages to ensure consistency and effectiveness. Supports various FDIC Advisory Committees by reviewing and providing feedback on materials to be presented at Advisory Committee meetings, reviewing and correcting meeting transcripts, and preparing meeting minutes. Monitors and analyzes developments in the financial services industry to assess the potential effect of emerging issues on the Corporation and its employees, as well as the community banking industry. Serves as the Division resource in developing and implementing internal communication efforts for the RMS management team as well as other Division employees. Develops strategies to effectively communicate information throughout the Division in a timely manner. Serves as a point-of-contact for internal and external stakeholders for Division communication efforts. Requirements Conditions of Employment Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) required Qualifications Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Applicants must be a Commissioned Risk Management Examiner in the FDIC or another organization with comparable commissioning to that used by the FDIC's Division of Risk Management Supervision. CG-13 , applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CG-12 grade level or above in the Federal service.Specialized experience is defined as: Experience leading Risk Management examinations and evaluating financial institution safety, soundness, and risk posed to the insurance fund. CG-14 , applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CG-13 grade level or above in the Federal service.Specialized experience is defined as: Experience leading Risk Management examinations of larger or more complex insured depository institutions and evaluating financial institution safety, soundness, and risk posed to the insurance fund; and providing advice, counsel, and guidance to staff regarding special situations, complex examinations, enforcement matters, or regulatory applications of insured financial institutions.
