Assistant Planner
4-5 days onsite NYC
Salary DOE $25-30/HR
Assistant Planner Overview:
As the Assistant Planner, you will be responsible for the effective flow, planning, and analysis of sales goals and margin targets. You will work closely with cross-functional partners to maximize business opportunities and help identify needs of the business.
Assistant Planner Responsibilities:
• Analyze historical sales performance to identify opportunities within stores/e-commerce, product categories, and channels of business
• Create and manage all weekly reporting from stock to sales, delivery status, back-order status, and available inventory reporting
• Review future plans based on historical performance and knowledge of future business conditions
• Identify risks and/or opportunities by product and region
• Partner with Location Planning Manager to conduct hindsight reviews to present findings to Senior leadership
• Work with cross-functional teams to implement Store strategies and address callouts and errors
• Reforecast sales, margin, receipts & inventory monthly and identify risks and opportunities relative to Plan
• Communicate the state of the business in weekly meetings and months OTB meetings
• Recommend strategic actions to maximize sales and margin, optimize inventory, and mitigate risk
• Work with sales and account teams to forecast need for key items
• Ensure consistent safety stock on key items through management of ladder plans
• Partner with Business Intelligence to maintain and improve reporting capabilities. Function as systems expert to support improvements, test and train as needed
• Report on weekly POS Sales to management; add texture on key events that may have impacted weekly sales
• Complete specific ad hoc analysis to support the buy process or impact sales
Assistant Planner Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree
• 1-2 years of previous internship or work experience
• Exceptional organizational skills
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (must have advanced Excel skills)
• Experience with planning and allocation applications preferred
• Collaborative, adaptable, and possesses a willingness to take on new projects
