Job Summary:
Under the guidance of the Financial Customer Service Manager the Support Clerk is responsible for record-keeping, posting, and processing various transactions in support of the Financial Services Division in accordance with appropriate Federal, State, third-party payor and Financial Services rules, regulations and procedures. The Support Clerk may work in a number of areas within Support Services; duties include: Perform daily mail duties; scan, upload and performing Quality Review of documents scanned into ChartMaxx daily; index sequencing documents in ChartMaxx; post record in Epic for Correspondence, NF and Bankruptcy documents; review authorizations; locate a patient account for each date of service referenced, scan into ChartMaxx, and post the activity code in EPIC. Triage incoming correspondence; process returned mail, housing request documents, ambulance face sheets, and W-9 requests from outside agencies; process attorney requests and subpoenas for itemized bills. Establishes and maintains various internal and external relationships including hospital departments, financial service groups, Office of the Attorney General, third party payors, hospital patients and/or patient representatives, attorneys, and physician offices. Perform other duties within the title as requested by the Financial Services
Minimum Qualifications:

NYS Department of Civil Service Eligible list or eligible for transfer
Or
Promotional:
Must be a qualified employee of New York State and have had one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as an office assistant, clerical or keyboarding title allocated to Grade 5 or higher. Or
Open competitive (Non-competitive, NY HELPS) Qualifications:
One year of clerical experience where majority of work time is spent performing mathematical operations, and/or clerical activities related to mathematical operations.
Work Days:
Schedule based on a 40 hour work week. M-F 8:00am-4:30pm. Located at the Galleries
