NDT Assistant Technicians - Artesia, NM Full Time/Resident

IRISNDT is seeking full-time NDT Assistants for a client site located in the Artesia, NM area. The NDT Assistant will assist NDT Technicians in performing non-destructive Testing of materials while training to become a Certified Technician. No previous experience required, will train! Relocation assistance available for qualified candidates!

Location: Artesia, NM

Start Date: ASAP

Schedule: 4/10's w/potential for overtime if/when required by client

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Set up and calibrate NDT equipment under the supervision of the Certified Technician.
  • Assist NDT Technicians in performing required inspection.
  • Assist Radiographers in performing radiography of Piping and Equipment.
  • Assist with proper documentation and reporting of inspection results.
  • Become familiar with required codes and procedures to carry out testing.
  • Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by management. Requirements.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • Valid Driver's License and pre-access drug and alcohol testing required.
  • Pre-employment background checks will be required.
  • 40hr Radiation Safety Training required.
  • Radiographer state card will be considered an asset.
  • NDT training and experience will be considered an asset.
  • Technical experience preferred.
  • Current SPRAT Rope Access certification will be considered an asset.
Physical Requirements:
  • Move, carry, and lift objects 50 lbs. or more.
  • Must be able to walk, stand, bend, reach, and climb.
  • Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
