Position: Financial Controller
Term: 3+ Months Minimum - opportunity for permanent conversion
Salary Range: $55-$65 per hour
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Financial Controller to manage the financial operations of a plant, ensuring accurate and timely monthly financial reporting, month-end closing, balance reconciliation, and overall financial management. This position offers the opportunity to interact with senior management, resolve accounting issues, and lead the accounting team in maintaining financial integrity.
The Financial Controller will oversee the financial performance of the division, supervise accounting staff, and ensure compliance with internal controls and financial reporting standards. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with limited supervision.

We are seeking a skilled Financial Controller to manage the financial operations of a plant, ensuring accurate and timely monthly financial reporting, month-end closing, balance reconciliation, and overall financial management. This position offers the opportunity to interact with senior management, resolve accounting issues, and lead the accounting team in maintaining financial integrity.
The Financial Controller will oversee the financial performance of the division, supervise accounting staff, and ensure compliance with internal controls and financial reporting standards. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with limited supervision.
Main Objectives:
- Participate in the monthly closing process and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Perform balance reconciliations and manage AR collections.
- Provide AP support as needed in the Shared Service Center (SSC).
- Assist in the testing and documentation of internal controls.
- Prepare and review financial reports for the plant, interact with management, and resolve accounting issues.
- Manage and mentor accounting staff to maintain accurate financial records.
- Oversee the daily finance operations, including source-to-pay, order-to-cash, and treasury functions.
- Manage the monthly and quarterly financial close process, review and approve significant accounting transactions, and resolve key financial issues.
- Act as a technical accounting expert on audit and financial reporting matters.
- Supervise the implementation of the ERP system and group reporting solutions.
- Maintain the division's system of accounts and ensure books and records are accurately maintained for all company transactions and assets.
- Support the preparation of monthly finance reviews with the corporate team.
- Act as a liaison with both internal and external auditors.
- Assist in the preparation of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and strategic planning efforts.
- Oversee tax planning and compliance for federal, state, and local taxes.
- Train and manage the local accounting staff (including AP, AR, and internal control teams).
- Ensure effective financial and internal controls for the organization.
- Supervise and lead a team of 3 or more employees.
- Perform ad hoc duties as assigned by the CFO or other Executive Team members.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's degree or CPA preferred).
- At least 7 years of related accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience leading high-performing teams, with the ability to mentor and educate staff.
- Strong knowledge of general ledger, accounts reconciliation, and financial reporting in accordance with GAAP and IFRS.
- Strong understanding of internal controls and financial operations, including cash collection processes.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., MAPICS, M3, SAP Financial Consolidation BFC).
- Previous ERP implementation experience (SAP, Oracle, M3) is required.
- Experience with financial modeling and the ability to analyze complex financial data.
- Strong ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal formats.
- Previous management experience in a financial control or accounting role.
- Experience in the Aerospace industry is a plus.
- Experience with Financial Consolidation Software is a plus.
- Experience working with a Shared Service Center for AP/AR transactions.
