IMMEDIATE Customs Financial Analyst position available. We are currently representing an industry leader in medical equipment manufacturing, seeking a Financial Analyst with experience in monitoring Customs, to join their team on a direct hire basis. This organization is growing rapidly, and adding new members to their team!

The Customs Financial Analyst role involves supporting the company's international trade operations by ensuring proper financial documentation, monitoring of customs duties, taxes, tariffs, and fees, and assisting with the reconciliation of customs-related expenses. The ideal candidate will have the ability to collaborate across various departments to streamline trade compliance and cost management processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Customs Financial Analysis: Analyze and manage financial data related to customs duties, tariffs, taxes, and fees associated with global trade. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations while optimizing costs and financial impact on the organization.
  • Invoice Reconciliation: Review and reconcile customs-related invoices, ensuring accuracy and identifying discrepancies. Collaborate with the Accounts Payable and Customs teams to resolve any issues.
  • Customs Compliance Support: Stay up to date on changes to customs laws and tariffs that may impact company operations.
  • Cost Optimization: Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements related to import/export activities, such as tariff classification, valuation, and origin determination.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare reports on customs-related financial activities, including duties, taxes, and freight costs. Present findings to senior management for strategic decision-making.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with customs, procurement, logistics, and finance teams to ensure alignment on customs-related financial matters and compliance strategies.
  • Data Management and Systems: Maintain accurate records in customs and finance systems, ensuring that data integrity is upheld. Support system improvements or upgrades related to customs and finance processes.
  • Risk Management: Assist in identifying and mitigating financial risks related to customs operations, including assessing potential impact from changes in trade regulations or external factors.

Education and/or Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain Management or a related field
  • At least 2 years of experience or customs-related role, preferably with experience in managing or analyzing customs duties, tariffs, and trade compliance.
Skills and Knowledge Requirements:
  • Working understanding of global trade and customs regulations.
  • Proficient in financial analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, SAP, or similar ERP systems).
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex data sets and translate findings into actionable insights.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams and departments.
