Manufacturing System Test Engineer Lead

Job Summary & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Test Planning and Strategy:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive test plans and strategies for manufacturing systems, including hardware, software, and integrated systems.
  • Define test objectives, scope, resources, schedules, and deliverables.
Test Execution:
  • Oversee the execution of system tests, including functional, performance, stress, and regression testing.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure that test activities are aligned with project goals and timelines.
Leadership and Team Management:
  • Lead a team of test engineers and technicians, providing guidance, mentoring, and support.
  • Allocate resources effectively and manage workload distribution to meet project deadlines.
Issue Identification and Resolution:
  • Identify, analyze, and document issues or defects found during testing.
  • Work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to resolve issues and implement corrective actions.
Documentation and Reporting:
  • Prepare detailed test reports, including findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate and organized documentation of test procedures, results, and related activities.
Process Improvement:
  • Continuously evaluate and improve testing processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Implement best practices and standardize testing procedures across projects.
Compliance and Standards:
  • Ensure that all testing activities comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
  • Stay up-to-date with advancements in testing technology and methodologies.
Collaboration:
  • Work closely with product development teams, quality assurance, and manufacturing departments to ensure seamless integration and alignment.
  • Facilitate communication between stakeholders to address any concerns or requirements related to testing.
Qualifications

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field) or a related technical discipline. A Master's degree or advanced certification is a plus.
Experience:
  • 7-10 years of experience in manufacturing systems testing or a related field, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing test plans for complex manufacturing systems.
Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, systems, and equipment.
  • Proficiency in test methodologies, tools, and software relevant to manufacturing systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex systems and identify root causes of issues.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience managing and mentoring a team of engineers.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with various stakeholders and present technical information clearly.
Certifications:
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Six Sigma, PMP, or certifications related to testing and quality assurance) are preferred.
