About the Role:
The Purchasing Manager will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing the procurement processes for Baily Foods International. Based out of Granite City, this role will oversee the Purchasing function for three plants: Granite City, National City, and Waycross, GA. This individual will be responsible for developing and executing purchasing strategies, negotiating contracts with suppliers, and ensuring a reliable supply of quality ingredients and materials to meet the company's production needs.

Key Responsibilities:
Develop and Implement Purchasing Strategies:
- Design and implement effective purchasing strategies that align with company goals and objectives.
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their offerings.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating favorable terms and conditions.
- Monitor supplier performance to ensure adherence to quality standards and delivery schedules.
- Analyze market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost-reduction initiatives.
- Develop and manage the purchasing budget, ensuring cost-effective procurement practices.
- Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to ensure that all purchased products meet the company's quality standards.
- Address any issues related to product quality, delivery, or supplier performance promptly.
- Collaborate with the Inventory and Production teams to manage inventory levels and ensure timely availability of materials.
- Implement efficient inventory management practices to minimize waste and reduce costs.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in the food industry.
- Experience in purchasing meat preferred.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
