Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Quality Management to oversee all aspects of our quality assurance and quality control processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing quality management systems, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive quality management system that aligns with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Establish quality standards, policies, and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance with industry regulations.
  • Lead and manage a team of quality assurance and quality control professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and support as needed.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess compliance with quality standards and identify areas for improvement.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce defects, and optimize manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and supply chain, to address quality-related issues and drive corrective actions.
  • Monitor and analyze key quality metrics and performance indicators to track progress and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries and concerns related to product quality and performance.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, standards, and certifications, including ISO, ANSI, and NIJ.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in quality management and manufacturing.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality management, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 8+years of experience in quality management or a similar role in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the defense or law enforcement industry.
  • Strong knowledge of quality management principles, methodologies, and tools, such as Six Sigma, Lean, and Total Quality Management.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams, drive change, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement quality management systems, policies, and procedures that meet regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Experience with quality management software and tools, such as QMS, ERP, and statistical analysis software.
  • Certification in quality management, such as ASQ Certified Quality Manager, Six Sigma Black Belt, or similar, is a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Sitting for long periods. Dexterity and coordination to handle files and single pieces of paper; occasional lifting of items weighing up to (25) twenty-five pounds such as files, stacks of paper, reference and other materials. Moving from place to place within the office; minimum reaching for items above and below desk level. Strength, dexterity, coordination and vision to use keyboard and video display terminal for prolonged periods.
