Job Summary:
Maintain and ensure that all company-wide international trade activities (the importation and exportation of goods and/or services) are within the scope of all US Customs and Border Protection laws, rules, and regulations while maintaining operational requirements to meet company needs.

Job Summary:
Maintain and ensure that all company-wide international trade activities (the importation and exportation of goods and/or services) are within the scope of all US Customs and Border Protection laws, rules, and regulations while maintaining operational requirements to meet company needs.
Essential Functions:
- Maintain formal, company-wide import/export policies, procedures, controls, and SOPs, as well as internal departmental processes, procedures, and compliance manuals.
- Obtain engineering information and determine proper import/export classifications (HTS, Schedule B, ECCN) for automotive parts, machinery & equipment, and spare parts for machinery & equipment, provide data to customs broker via CustomsInfo Manager Application.
- Ensure all types of entries are properly filed with CBP (Entry, ISF, Recon, Export EEI, Drawback, etc), and all related duties & tax payments are properly & timely processed.
- Support CoC in representing the company to CBP, preparing responses to CBP for requests for information regarding import transactions, and preparing for and supporting stratified examinations by CBP.
- Maintain activities supporting participation in customs programs such as CTPAT and others.
- Works with various internal business groups as necessary to ensure compliance.
- Performs periodic internal audits to evaluate compliance levels and implements improvements when gaps dictate.
- Keeps abreast of new international Free Trade Agreements and other preference programs available for cost down opportunities. Ensures compliance with program guidelines.
- Maintains relationships with external customs counsel, brokers, vendors and overseas group companies as well as, participation in various trade compliance organizations.
- Monitors & interprets regulatory & international changes and implements activities to ensure compliance.
- Coordinate delivery of inbound shipments by providing effective and timely tracking, processing, coordination and clearance as well as, freight claim management.
- Support Global logistics lane strategies and bidding.
- Maintain policy and procedure changes as necessary due to CBP rules and regulations.
- Recommend strategies for corrective actions.
- Resolution actions for customs issues with financial impact or potential audit risk.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and 0-2 years of direct experience. A combination of experience and degree can be considered.
- International business experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Trade Compliance procedures and terms.
- Strong written and oral communication skills and good presentation skills.
- Ability to coordinate and monitor a high level of activity as demonstrated under a variety of conditions and constraints.
- Ability to comprehend complex instructions and respond effectively as well as perform basic arithmetic accurately and quickly.
- Knowledge of appropriate office software applications.
- Excellent organization and time management skills.
- Customs Broker License preferred.
