RubinBrown is seeking an experienced Client Accounting and Advisory Services (CAAS) manager to join our growing team. In this role you will provide strategic financial leadership and guidance to our clients serving as their trusted business advisor. You will collaborate with senior management to analyze financial data, develop budgets and forecasts, and help the client management team make informed business decisions about the direction of their company. The ability to multi-task while managing several compressed deadlines and leveraging both technology and teamwork will be key with this role. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in financial leadership roles, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, great attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
Major Responsibilities
Trusted Business Advisor
- Be RubinBrown’s primary point of contact for multiple client engagements, ensuring timely responsiveness in accordance with RubinBrown’s Client Service Standards
- Analyze and review financial statements, management reports, and other key performance indicators, providing proactive feedback and analysis on trends, areas of focus/importance, potential areas of concern/”red flags,” etc.
- Prepare cash-flow forecasts, budgets and assist with projections and financial models
- Proactively and frequently meet with client management and leadership (including Boards and Committees) to educate and share these financial insights in a clear, easy to understand manner
- Evaluate accounting policies and procedures to help recommend process improvements, including potentially cross-selling additional RubinBrown services
- Frequently communicate and check in with clients to ensure they are totally satisfied and identify any opportunities for improvement
- Oversee and simultaneously supervise staff from multiple client engagement teams, providing technical assistance and support to ensure expectations are met on multiple client deliverables
- Responsible for concurrently reviewing and finalizing monthly accounting period close and generation of client deliverables for multiple clients in accordance with desired client timelines
- Manage financial reporting accuracy for clients in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
- Provide feedback, support, training and development opportunities to engagement staff, including clearly communicating expectations, accounting matters identified during review and opportunities for improvement
- Manage internal team time budget, including preparing monthly client billing analysis for each client engagement and holding engagement teams accountable for internal time budget expectations
- Assist in scoping and onboarding new clients
- Assist with efforts to identify and attract new clients
- Assist with other objectives to support and grow RubinBrown’s outsourced accounting practice
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- CPA or CMA certification (required)
- Prior public accounting experience (preferred)
- Previous experience with QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, bill.com and other similar software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word and Excel required)
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to stay organized and appropriately prioritize multiple simultaneous tasks
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to technical excellence
- Strong technical skills including the ability to effectively utilize technology and the commitment to learning in a technology environment

- The typical office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Ability to work extra hours as determined by the workload and client expectations.
- Work environment will be hybrid (i.e. a combination of remote, RubinBrown’s office and various client’s offices)
- Travel for this position will be approximately 5% of the year.
- Ability to sit for long periods of time.
- Ability to move throughout office.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull up to 10-30 pounds.
- Ability to speak English to communicate with clients, team members, etc.
