Colonial Chemical is hiring: Production Supervisor in South Pittsburg

Position Type: Salaried + Performance-Based Bonus

Hours: 12 Hour Rotating Swing Shift

Reports to: Plant Manager

Job Summary: The Production Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day production of quality chemicals in the production plant in a safe and efficient manner.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Manage and provide guidance to production operators on shift, which may include safety intervention, interviewing, training, attendance, performance evaluations, and discipline.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

• Maintain a safe work environment for all employees.
• Responsible and accountable for ensuring compliance with applicable environmental regulations.
• Responsible as boiler attendant and will maintain up to date training.
• Conduct self in a professional manner and work with all levels of management to create a safe, compliant work culture.
• Manage day-to-day production of Colonial Chemical products.
• Must maintain up to date training in all applicable ISO/GMP policies and procedures as well as any company sponsored training.
• Provide guidance, training, and troubleshooting services to production operators to ensure quality product in a timely manner.
• Responsible and accountable for maintaining a high-level of housekeeping in plant and warehouse areas.
• Use of company ERP system to enter, gather, and analyze data as production needs.
• Ensure and review accuracy of production documentation which includes but not limited to batch tickets submissions, product movements, Wastewater Logs, and Inventory logs.
• Manage permit approval and management signoffs. This may include such items but not limited to hot works permits and EPI unload sheets.
• Work with the QC department to ensure quality issues are addressed in a timely and efficient manor while ensuring product quality.
• Work with the inventory department to ensure accuracy and control of all inventories. This may include but is not limited to bulk tank inventory, drum/tote counts, cycle counts, and batch ticket submissions.
• Work with maintenance department to identify maintenance needs and

help coordinate maintenance scheduling to ensure maximum productivity.

• Coordinate with shipping and receiving departments to ensure on time shipments and lower demurrage charges.
• Comply to all HR policies and ensure proper payroll accuracy.
• Participate in company and department OGSM.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 5 years of chemical plant and management experience required.

Physical Requirements:

• Candidates must be available to work on 24/7 rotating swing shifts.

• Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping.
• Must be able to lift to 50 pounds at a time.
• Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced.
