JOB TITLE: Staff Accountant

REPORTS TO: Director, Accounting

JOB PURPOSE:

Apply principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports by compiling information, preparing analysis, and utilizing appropriate accounting procedures supporting the Director of Accounting and the Accounting team.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES: Significant functional general ledger and internal reporting. Familiarity with internal control activities/account reconciliations. Experience on the following technologies: - SAP, Hyperion Planning and/or HFM - Excel and the Office package. Responsible for capital/fixed assets accounting. Manages intercompany reconciliations and transactions. Reconciles accounts monthly to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance. Responsible for overseeing physical inventory control a plus. Reconciles bank accounts. Assists with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities. Participates in internal and external audits and prepares documentation for these activities, included but not limited to process controls, audits, compliance processes implementation. Assists with ad hoc reporting and performing special projects upon request. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's Degree required: Business Management, Accounting or equivalent. 5+ years of related experience Knowledge of accounting, budgeting, and internal control principles Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and strict adherence to policies and procedures Above average analytical and problem-solving skills Accuracy and attention to detail Advanced Excel skills Knowledge of financial and accounting software applications An ability to analyze financial data and prepare reports, statements, and projections Ability to work independently and manage multiple task assignments to strict deadlines Strong oral and written communication skills Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment Deep functional knowledge around financial systems, reconciliations, and process improvements Proven skills as a team member or team lead on at least one full life cycle implementation High degree of professionalism, integrity, and discretion is required Ability to participate and facilitate group discussions and teamwork Willingness to work flexible schedule and long hours when needed
