Summary

The Site Safety Manager will oversee the safety operations for the visitor and retail centers of Grand Central Terminal and Grand Central Madison. Spinoso Real Estate Group (SREG) serves as the Retail Property Manager on behalf of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) and Metro North for this premier New York City landmark, tasked with managing the retail portion of the terminal to the standards set by MTA stakeholders. This role provides oversight and leadership of all life and safety logistics related to the Retail Property Management Services of SREG, retail tenants, and any projects undertaken by the MTA. The position requires extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations to maintain the property in a safe, clean, and healthy manner. With 900,000 monthly visitors, the Site Safety Manager will ensure compliance and foster a safe working environment for all, exercising oversight of all safety-related logistics tied to the retail property.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Oversee safety standards and procedures for all on-site projects and operations. Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures for all on-site projects and operations. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and reporting set by OSHA. Conduct safety training and orientation for new employees and ongoing training for existing employees. Conduct regular safety inspections and audits per industry and regulatory standards. Assess and mitigate risks associated with on-site operations, including conducting hazard assessments and recommending safety improvements. Collaborate with the General Manager and Operations Manager to develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures. Stay updated on changes to safety regulations and ensure that the on-site remains compliant to and local safety laws. Liaise with regulatory agencies and ensure timely reporting of required safety documentation. Report all procedural, safety, and on-site hazards to the appropriate authority. Investigate accidents, injuries, and near-miss situations to determine the root cause and implement corrective measures to prevent future recurrences. Ensure all on-site employees are prepared and educated in various emergency procedures. Monitor and ensure all safety equipment is regularly maintained, inspected, and replaced as needed. Consistently maintain and improve the safety standards and operation of the property and its employees. Perform regular risk assessments and hazard analyses to identify and prevent potential safety risks and incidents.

Qualification Requirements

In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety standards, and best practices. OSHA-30 Certification or ability to complete certification. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify hazards and implement effective solutions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and motivate employees. Maintain accurate up-to-date reports and records of safety standards, safety records, incident reports, training logs, and inspection statuses. Proficiency in safety management software. Prepare detailed reports on inspection findings, incidents, and other required safety-related documentation. Up to date with industry trends, safety procedures, and safety technologies. Proven ability to identify and mitigate unsafe situations. Education and/or Experience

5+ years' experience in construction and site safety, industrial hygiene, and occupational safety. Minimum of 5+ years in safety management and safety supervision. Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST), or similar certification are preferred. Physical Demands
