SYSTEM LAYOUT ENGINEERING MANAGER

Since 1983, HTI Cybernetics® has provided intelligent manufacturing solutions that support and enhance production, including automation systems, material handling solutions, assembly tooling, and collaborative robotics.

Manage the System Layout department with up to 10 employees by managing staff, delegating work, ensure quality and timeliness of department work. Oversee the design and coordinate building 3D virtual factory layouts through collaboration while utilizing the latest technologies available to the manufacturing industry. Develop & maintain excellent relationships with other HTI department managers, customers & suppliers. Coordinate and develop all internal and external integrated 3D layout design activities. Work closely with Project Management, Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering, and Manufacturing to design a system layout on projects from inception to final customer acceptance. Provide and coordinate project specific technical data and layouts to robotic simulation and mechanical engineering teams. Lead system layout process review meetings for 3D system designs. Lead 3D visualization review meetings to review progress, identify potential interferences, and drive decisions in developing manufacturing build plans. Document information, decisions, changes, and open issues related to system layout from customers and suppliers. Gather required project information from customers, suppliers, and internal teams to create an integrated layout. Coordinate with internal shop floor build team to integrate all tools and equipment for integration on our manufacturing floor. Oversee the creation and release of final installation drawings to the project team, manufacturing team, and the customer installation team. Provide follow up and installation support at the customer facilities. Travel to Supplier and Customer sites when required (approximately 20%) The desire to utilize and/ or learn cutting edge technology that the industry utilizes in developing and maintaining 3D virtual factory models. Work Hours:

Flexible start time between 7:00AM - 8:00am through 4:00pm - 5:00pm, depending on project and personal preference.

45-50 hour work week on average.

Requirements

Proven management skills successfully leading a system layout, engineering, or mechanical design department. 5+ years of technical experience in the methods of creating system layouts with relevant experience in the use of industry and customer standards. Proficiency in system layout of general assembly tooling with knowledge of General Motor's standards. Proficiency with 3D AutoCAD. Proficiency with FactoryCAD software. Proficiency working with 3D visualization software. Knowledge of 3D mechanical design software applications. (Inventor and NX preferred) Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other closely related discipline or equivalent industry experience strongly preferred Knowledge of working with reality capture point clouds and related hardware and software a plus.
