Staff Accountant

Working to make a positive difference in the accounting and finance function. Collaborating with all departments, this individual will be responsible for providing support to the period-end accounting, financial reporting, compliance, and risk management.
What You will Be Doing
• Month-end close, general ledger, account reconciliation.
• Intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
• Variance analysis on the company's financial performance.
• Reconcile monthly bank and corporate credit card statements.
• Provide an optimal level of assistance to various departments including superior communication with all levels in the company. Work with operations to resolve accounting inquiries.
• Assist with audit and the year-end tax preparation.
• Special projects/research/accounting process set-up/documentation.
• Assist with payments by accruing expenses; assigning account numbers; requesting disbursements.
• Assist with the review of the appropriate documentation and coding information for Accounts Payables.
• Maintain and safeguard confidential information.
What a Successful Staff Accountant Brings to the Table:
• Proficient in Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook.
• Experience with accounting software packages including report writing, GL maintenance is a plus. Experience with Sage Intacct (preferred).
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent customer service and overall understanding of accounting systems.
• Accurate data entry and strong attention to detail are required.
• A results-oriented professional style and the ability to effectively multitask and work within deadlines.
• Strong understanding of GAAP.
• Confidentiality: Regularly exposed to and participates in highly confidential meetings dealing with proprietary information and sensitive situations.
• U.S citizenship and the ability to pass a background investigation.
Credentials:
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance (Preferred).
• Two to three years of related accounting experience.
• Restaurant industry accounting experience (Preferred).
