Sandy Spring Bank is currently recruiting for a Senior Branch Manager. The successful candidate manages and leads the overall performance of one of the Bank's largest, more complex retail/commercial branch offices. Branch will service one of our largest deposit bases in a high priority strategic location for Sandy Spring Bank that offers strong commercial business development opportunities. Responsible for developing new retail and commercial client relationships and expanding existing relationships utilizing professional sales techniques to prospect, identify, and meet client needs. Works in cooperation and coordination with branch staff to achieve referral goals, production goals, and support a positive team atmosphere. Responsible for generating deposit, loan, and investment fee income growth to meet branch profit plan. Participate in business events and networking opportunities. Effectively works with key representatives from all areas of the company to send and accept referrals. Cross sells products and services; refers clients to sales personnel in other business lines. Accepts and processes retail and small business loan applications. Responsible for audit, compliance and security issues within branch office, ensuring compliance at all times. Communicates and supports the mission of the company. Complete other duties as assigned.
MAJOR JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
: Responsible for branch achieving its annual sales and customer retention goals. Coordinates with branch staff and business partners to achieve growth objectives. Utilizes advanced sales techniques such as profiling, prospecting and other business development activities and outbound calling efforts to generate business. Has a complete understanding of all products sold in the retail/commercial branch office and is familiar with products sold by other business lines. Maintains knowledge of credit standards and loan processing procedures for retail loans. Manage a book of clients, with emphasis on cross selling and deepening customers' relationship with the bank. Management will focus on building and retaining relationships through specific customer contact and sales goals. Has the ability to independently navigate commercial credit applications within defined limits through the loan approval process. Develop existing business client relationships and prospect within the community for new commercial business. Utilize and leverage the Customer Relationship Management System (CX360) in order to deliver a consistently remarkable client experience, support our sales teams and drive results. Provide remarkable client experience while delivering results that align with business objectives. Resolves escalated client concerns by responding responsibly and provides support to staff in dealing with difficult situations. Coaches staff on adhering to service expectations. Responsible for daily operations of retail/commercial branch office. Ability to thrive with the complexities of a larger size branch (i.e. higher transaction volume, large staff, extended hours, close proximity to Financial Center).Ensures procedures are followed or make authorized exceptions to procedure/policy to maintain optimal branch performance in service quality, accuracy, transactions, or decisions requiring a higher level of authority for approval or signature within the branch. Delegates duties to Assistant Manager as appropriate. Holds weekly branch meetings to promote ideas for meeting/exceeding business plan goals and to review operations, sales, and service topics. Foster employee development by providing a supportive learning environment and on-going coaching activities. Provides regular feedback to staff on progress. Documents performance and completes performance review forms in a timely manner. Follows established audit, security and compliance guidelines to protect the staff, company assets, and clients from harm or loss. Maintains familiarity with procedures and policies that are subject to audit to ensure audit scores are at acceptable levels. Represents Sandy Spring Bank to the client and community in a professional, courteous manner at all times. Exhibits quality behaviors that promote client trust. Organizes or participates in company sponsored community events to promote the banks image and growth ensuring that Sandy Spring Bank maintains a strong local presence. Suggests changes in products, policies, and procedures that would enhance client satisfaction, revenue, security, or operational efficiency. Required Skills
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
If selected and hired for the position, continued employment will be contingent upon the successful completion of the required Training and Assessment. Position requires a minimum of 8 - 10 years retail sales and commercial banking experience to include at least 4 years of successful management/supervisory experience. Strong knowledge of banking products and related laws and regulations is required. Knowledge of standard audit and security procedures required. Demonstrates leadership and decision making skills along with the ability to coach and develop others is required. Intermediate personal computer skills are required using standard windows-based software. Intermediate knowledge of the Metavante Banking System is also required through experience or on-the-job training. Position requires regular internal and external contact to carry out organizational objectives. Most often deals with matters requiring persuasion and approval. Ability to make productive business development calls is needed. Contacts involve a variety of levels and require advanced interpersonal skills to effectively deal with all types of people. Must have excellent ability to speak, read and write English to effectively and professionally express ideas, in both written and oral form. Ability to prepare business correspondence, prepare and summarize complex reports, write procedures, interpret complicated policies is also necessary. Strong communication skills are needed to effectively supervise and guide others. Advanced problem solving skills are required. Problems are technically or administratively complex and require the collection, interpretation, and analysis of date from diverse sources.
