PURPOSE
Designs and analyzes various forms of financial reporting to help management make appropriate business decisions. Carries out all duties while maintaining compliance and confidentiality and promoting the mission and philosophy of the organization.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Develops and designs required reports to be used for various financial and operational analyses. Creates detailed financial models including profitability analyses and projections to assist executive management in strategic decisions Analyzes reports for trends, unusual fluctuations and integrity of information. Analyzes charge account data in relation to metrics such as RBRVS, RVUs, etc. Designs and analyzes required allocations and reports to be used in cost accounting and budgeting. Works with general ledger department to identify procedures for changes in coding practices that impact cost accounting and effectively implement such procedures. Develops and maintains required spreadsheets, queries and processes used to prepare annual budgets for required companies. Facilitates implementation of new Budget processes as needed. Assists in process improvement initiatives across the Finance department Assists in developing and maintaining required financial data in data warehouse. Maintains a working knowledge of revenue and expenses through various systems and its impact on reporting. Assists in troubleshooting automated data processes. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Works closely and coordinates with other finance department members to achieve finance department goals and objectives. Handles all other assignments and projects as assigned by department manager or other executive personnel of CMS. Analyst assigned specific roles will be reflective of various areas of specialization/expertise assigned to each analyst within the Financial Analysis Department. For example, the Senior Financial Analyst role could be assigned responsibility for managerial accounting, cash management and forecasting, Physician and Advanced Practice Clinician compensation calculations and/or other roles as required. Managerial Accounting involves creation, maintenance and distribution of clinical profitability reporting utilizing an underlying allocation methodology. Role requires a detailed understanding of General Ledger data and close collaboration with the Finance and Operations teams. Cash Management and Forecasting involves collaboration with the CFO and VP of Finance to develop and maintain models for forecasting daily and strategic cash flow. Role requires a detailed understanding of company structure with the ability to apply this knowledge. Ability to communicate the underlying operational and strategic assumptions. Physician and Advanced Practice Clinician compensation role involves executing the semi-annual compensation process as well as monthly compensation duties. Role requires the ability to interact with Executive and Physician Leadership to develop new compensation models and analysis.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration (accounting or finance preferred) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience: Two (2) or more years of related experience required, to include analysis and design of financial modeling. Healthcare industry experience preferred. Oracle Financials experience a plus.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Working knowledge of SQL preferred. Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Access Knowledge of healthcare industry Demonstrated skills in the analysis and design of financial modeling Excellent verbal and written communication skills Understanding of GAAP, accounting processes, procedures and internal controls. Strong research and analysis skills. Ability to adapt quickly and learn new tasks independently. Excellent organization skills. Ability to manage competing priorities Uses own judgment to make decisions on a variety of complex matters in accordance with established procedures.
