Key responsibilities of this position
The Senior Accountant contributes to Nellis' overall success by ensuring that accounting processes are efficient, compliant and accurate. This role directly impacts the Company's ability to manage its month-end close process, financial reporting, tax and compliance obligations. This position will report directly to the Senior Controller and will support the CFO/other senior leaders in a pivotal role to support Nellis' exponential growth.
Participate and drive activities related to the monthly close process, including accurate & timely preparation of journal entries (supported by well-documented analysis) and the timely research/resolution of various business matters that have accounting implications Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and analysis on a monthly basis, including but not limited to inventory, fixed assets, and payroll accounts Perform functions in accordance with applicable company, GAAP and tax policies and procedures Assist in accounting management to complete ad-hoc projects, month-end and year-end reports Maintain lease accounting schedules in compliance with ASC 842 Provide technical support to leadership and outside auditors Analyze information by developing spreadsheet reports Assist in coordinating with internal/external audit and tax requests Perform other duties as assigned Requirements
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; CPA preferred 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years working under a Controller In-depth knowledge of GAAP and tax accounting principles Strong proficiency in Sage Intacct or similar ERP systems Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial modeling and data visualization Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities Effective communication skills to collaborate with both finance and non-finance stakeholders Desired Skills
Strong attention to detail/accuracy and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment Ability to be a team player and to develop into a manager/leader of people in future roles Position Location
Las Vegas, NV preferred but open to other locations across the Company's current geographic footprint including Phoenix, AZ, Mesa, AZ or Katy, TX
