Job Summary
This is a great opportunity for a Staff Accountant who is looking to develop his/her skillset while gaining exposure to a variety of corporate accounting and finance areas. The position will report to the Senior Accountant. The Staff Accountant's primary role will be the review and management of the marketing departments' general ledger accounts and departmental reporting. This is a vital role with future opportunities for career progression as the business grows. The candidate should be highly motivated, detail-oriented, trustworthy, and results-driven. Prior experience in general accounting, journal entries, variance analysis, and ERP systems is a plus. We are willing to train the right Accounting/Finance professional.
Job Responsibilities
Corporate Accounting: Ensure proper recording and coding of marketing costs. Assist with the monthly close process, balance sheet reconciliations, GL review for coding accuracy, as well as internal and external audit requests and ad hoc reporting. Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for manager review and approval in alignment with corporate finance deadlines Departmental Reporting: Analyze performance compared to budget and provide ad hoc reporting to budget owners. This role will be the liaison between accounting and marketing to facilitate accurate and timely reporting to decision makers Transactional Accounting: Create purchase orders and process marketing invoices Month-end/Year-end Close: Assist the period-end close process by ensuring the accurate and timely completion of corporate accounting/finance entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis Reporting: Preparation of reporting for marketing budget owners Process improvement: Recommend and lead improvements to current processes Collaboration: Maintain a great working relationship within our corporate finance team and with the teams in the divisions and departments Ad hoc: Support ad hoc financial information requests, analyses, and other special projects, as assigned Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline 1-3 years of related work experience in Accounting or Finance (public or private) is a plus Advanced Excel skills Solid values and high standards of ethics, integrity, and trust Action-oriented and purposeful Ability to meet deadlines & an initiative-taker Enthusiastic and professional, with a 'can-do' attitude Effective communication skills, both verbal and written Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to network and build relationships with individuals of various experience and corporate levels both within and outside of the company Ability to take direction, ask questions, and receive feedback Organized and able to prioritize tasks What CRH Offers You
