Director of Manufacturing Connectivity Controls (Automation Controls)

The Director of Manufacturing Connectivity Controls role requires strong leadership, vision of the future, manufacturing experience, extensive collaboration, and analytical skills. This leader is responsible for creating the future of manufacturing technologies connectivity across platforms through support of Niagara’s initiatives as it relates to systems integrations and enhancements. In addition, this role’s responsibilities are to include the assurance of end user adoption through acceptance of change as a key to Niagara’s future success. Another key responsibility is to provide leadership and mentorship to the team.

Essential Functions

Provide strategic leadership and coordination in the development and implementation of complex industrial applications, manufacturing technologies, and information systems to meet Niagara’s requirements

Review current systems integrations and collaborate with other stakeholders to simplify while minimizing end user interactions in multiple systems

Partner with Niagara OEMs to align & standardize system connectivity as it relates to Batching Systems, Line Management Systems, WMS systems, Quality Systems, etc

Responsible to develop and/or improve analytical tools in collaboration with internal/external stakeholders such as Niagara corporate/plant teams, vendors, and SME’s

Ensure that existing and developing systems are delivering required results as well as understanding the continued pain points that impacts OEE

Support the businesses strategic vision of Industry 4.0 initiatives, providing optimized integrations that simplify complexity of the system integrations

Partner with IT & Asset Care to maximize Edge technology to simplify the PLC to software connectivity creating less points of failure

Responsible to deliver all design, timeline, & and technical documents to our business partners aligning expectations and proposed solutions

Align with both internal and external business partners on resource needs while identifying opportunities to outsource tasks to better support Niagara’s growth projections

Conducts analytical studies to support and recommend solutions around critical objectives as set forth by the business

Support functioning business divisions with the identification of improvement opportunities and assist in providing cost-effective solutions using advanced technologies, analytical tools and techniques

Optimize systems execution for the manufacturing execution – including safety, production, quality, inventory, and maintenance

Understand Industry 4.0 and the ongoing digital transformation of the current MFG environment while identifying how such changes can be attributed to Niagara’s 3-5 year vision.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

10+ Years – Experience in Field or similar manufacturing environment

4 Years – Experience in Position

4 Years – Experience managing people/projects

*experience may include a combination of work experience and education

Preferred Qualifications:

10+ Years– Experience in Field or similar manufacturing environment

6 Years – Experience working in Position

6 Years – Experience managing people/projects

*experience may include a combination of work experience and education

Competencies

Recent experience in the Manufacturing environment is highly valued

Prior experience with manufacturing technology, including Line Management Systems, SCADA systems, Quality Systems, Batching Systems, Kitting Systems, ERP, Quality systems is preferred

Experience implementing Industry 4.0 and SMART Manufacturing initiatives

Understanding of Edge AI technologies & cloud computing tools.

Ability to influence all levels of the organization to support strategic business decisions.

Project Management experience required.

Prior experience and understanding of Manufacturing Execution Systems, all modules is preferred

Experience in a food or beverage operation is preferred.

Understanding of manufacturing processes and lean manufacturing techniques is required.

Familiarity of MESA / ISA-95 MES standards is preferred

Experience with large scale complex system deployments

Proficiency in, but not limited to:

Microsoft Office Applications

Oracle E-Business Systems

Line Monitoring & Efficiency Improvement Analysis Applications

SOW/BR/FDS documents

Ability to work well under pressure in a very fast paced environment.

Ability to translate data into recommendable actions to senior leadership.

Education

Minimum Required:

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Computer Science and other related fields or equivalent experience.

Preferred:

Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Computer Science or MBA.

Certification/License:

Required: N/A

Preferred: Lean & Six Sigma

Project Management Professional Certification (PMP)

Typical Compensation Range

Pay Rate Type: Salary

$195,652.77 - $273,913.88 / Yearly

Bonus Target: 20% Annual
