Your Role: Carbon Sustainability Project Leader - Ruminants
As the
Carbon Sustainability Project Leader - Ruminants , you will be at the forefront of driving Elanco's commitment to sustainability in the U.S. Food Animal Business. In this role, you will lead groundbreaking initiatives to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in ruminant livestock systems, leveraging Elanco's industry-leading innovation and partnerships. From ideation to commercialization, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of sustainable agriculture by creating measurable, scalable, and impactful solutions that align with global sustainability standards and drive value for our customers.

Your Responsibilities: Lead Innovation:
Own the end-to-end development of ruminant livestock-focused carbon reduction projects, from strategy design and validation to market launch. Collaborate Across Teams:
Partner with marketing, technical, and EKS teams to develop cutting-edge interventions aligned with consumer packaged goods (CPG) standards and greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting principles. Work with Global Standards:
Align projects with recognized sustainability frameworks such as GHG Protocol, SBTi, and Value Chain Initiative while collaborating with external registries, validation/verification bodies, and industry experts. Deliver Real Impact:
Develop measurable, validated, and verified emissions reduction projects that meet customer needs, address scalability, and deliver tangible sustainability benefits. Drive Industry Influence:
Stay ahead of global GHG trends, engage with thought leaders, and help shape the evolution of global sustainability standards in agriculture. What You Need to Succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
Education:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field. Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in agricultural sustainability project development, with a track record of delivering validated projects that meet CPG and GHG standards. Top Skills:
In-depth knowledge of GHG accounting principles and emissions reduction methodologies. Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage dynamic, multi-faceted projects. Exceptional communication skills to engage stakeholders and build consensus. What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
Knowledge of dairy production systems and hands-on experience implementing on-farm emissions reduction strategies. Familiarity with key validation/verification organizations (e.g., SustainCert, Verra, SCS Global) and their processes. Demonstrated success in applying sustainability frameworks such as GHG Protocol, Climate Action Reserve, or Gold Standard. Strong project management skills with the ability to navigate complex timelines and drive results. Passion for sustainability, innovation, and delivering real-world solutions. Additional Information:
