Description
Tangram provides services for individual with disabilities for youth through older adults throughout the state of Indiana. Tangram is looking for motivated and compassionate Recreational Therapists to join the team to serve clients in Hamilton and Marion County.
Position Overview
As a Recreational Therapist at Tangram, you will play an important role in supporting your clients to address their individualized needs and goals through creative interventions. You will hold your own caseload of clients and design treatment plans unique for each person. We are looking for someone who is ready to be a creative thinker, an advocate and a positive light for their clients! Duties/ Responsibilities:
Conduct assessments, write treatment plans, plan therapeutic interventions, facilitate individual or group interventions, document services daily using electronic documentation, document individual progress monthly using electronic documentation and attend interdisciplinary team meetings quarterly. Follow the APIE process Create goals and objectives appropriate for each individualized client based on the domains of physical, cognitive, social, emotional and spiritual. Manage your individual caseload and schedule Communicate effectively with peers and supervisors. Demonstrate professionalism both in center and out in the community while supporting clients. Complete daily electronic documentation in a professional, accurate and timely manner that meets all agency standards while maintaining confidentiality. Follows HIPPA and always maintain client confidentiality. Make modifications and adaptations in real time to support goals and needs within scope of practice. Follow guidance from senior level staff to enhance professional development. Demonstrates interpersonal skills to manage crisis situations. Demonstrate understanding of life span development and various diagnoses. Requirements
Education and Experience:
Must be at least 21 years of age Must hold a Bachelors degree or higher for an accredited university in Recreational Therapy, have completed Recreational Therapy internship, passed accreditation exam and must be a registered CTRS through NCTRC. At least 2 years' experience working with individuals with developmental, intellectual, and physical disabilities. Must have a valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, meet agency drivers' insurance requirements, reliable vehicle, and up to date automobile insurance. Physical Responsibilities:
Varied workstations and environments based on client situations. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Prolonged periods of standing or sitting. Benefits:
