Job Description Role: Senior Technical Accountant Location: West Suburbs Work Schedule: Hybrid Compensation: Up to $105,000 + Bonus

In partnership with our client, we are seeking an experienced Accountant with strong GAAP knowledge, complex accounting and financial reporting experience, and a CPA license.

As a Senior Technical Accountant, you will oversee technical accounting activities, support the preparation of consolidated financial statements, and lead the implementation of accounting policies across the organization's global entities. The role requires a strong understanding of complex accounting transactions, experience with financial reporting, and an ability to navigate the nuances of international accounting standards.

Responsibilities

Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements in compliance with US GAAP and IFRS. Research, interpret, and implement new accounting standards and policies, ensuring compliance across multiple international entities. Act as a subject matter expert on technical accounting issues, including revenue recognition, lease accounting, and foreign currency transactions. Collaborate with global finance teams to establish and maintain consistent accounting policies and procedures. Lead special projects related to financial reporting, such as system implementations, process improvements, and new accounting standards adoption. Partner with internal and external auditors to facilitate the audit process and resolve any technical accounting matters. Prepare technical accounting memos, policy documentation, and white papers on complex accounting issues. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA designation required. 3+ years of experience in technical accounting or public accounting, with a focus on financial reporting and international accounting policies. Strong knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS standards. Experience with financial reporting for publicly traded companies or large international organizations is highly desirable. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a plus. Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
