Staff Accountant II
to add to our team of professionals. This position will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records in compliance with all regulatory timelines as well as those of Southwestern Healthcare, Inc. and its affiliate organizations

WHAT IS THIS POSITION RESPONSIBLE FOR?
Prepare monthly general ledger journal entries and supporting workpapers. Prepare monthly balance sheets and income statements. Review and monitor variances to budget. Prepare monthly intercompany cash transfers for rent, building supplies, etc. Prepare cash deposits and monitor online cash accounts daily. Verify AP invoices meet policy guidelines for approval and support prior to payment. Code AP invoices and corporate credit card purchases and prepare for either entry or import into accounting software system. Prepare and/or review monthly bank account reconciliation reports. Retrieve transaction data from PEX Card system, prepare it for import into the accounting system. Prepare and issue invoices/claims for assigned grant reimbursements, rent billings and other miscellaneous billings. Monitor and follow up on subsequent receipts. Add, dispose, and maintain capital assets in the fixed asset software. Assist with annual budgets and financial audits. Prepare or assist with preparation, distribution and filing of regulatory forms and submissions such as unclaimed property, 1099s, and census reports. Provide backup coverage for other accounting department positions and assist with training new accounting staff when required. Perform various tasks and projects as assigned by the Controller. WORKING ENVRONMENT:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with minimum two years relevant experience required. Requires extensive attention to detail. Must have advanced skills in Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and a working knowledge of Adobe Pro preferred. Must be able to exercise strong independent judgment and possess strong analytical skills. Experience with Federal and State funding organizations preferred.
