Job Description:

Responsible for developing quantitative/analytic models and applications in support of the firm's risk management effort. This role focuses on the development of operations/data management policies, strategies and operational guidelines for the organization's various financial products as they relate to the analysis, tracking, and reporting of various risk metrics. This role often possesses an advanced degree in physic, applied mathematics, statistics/probability or another heavy quantitative discipline. Quantitative analytic staff is focused on and responsible for the development of the theory and mathematics behind various models. Manages a team and reports to Quant Operations Exec.

The Global Banking & Global Markets Anti-Money Laundering (GB/GM AML) organization is a central control function which governs, facilitates, and oversees the global end-to-end GB/GM AML program across all GB/GM businesses and jurisdictions through implementation of processes and controls to effectively manage AML and economic sanctions risks. The team performs AML Know-Your-Client/Client Due Diligence (KYC/CDD) and covers refresh (periodic review) as its core activity. Additionally, there is a dedicated team responsible in reaching out to clients for KYC/CDD documentations to fulfill its due diligence requirements. The team also covers internal/external audits, remediation of AML KYC/CDD of bank clients.

One of the key requirements of the GB/GM AML Data Analytics & Reporting team is to create sophisticated, value-added analytics and reporting solutions that support operational efficiency & regulatory compliance in the Anti-Money Laundering and Know Your Customer space. The emphasis is on effectively and accurately using data to drive operations and compliance.

This is a manager role with direct oversight for a team of business analysts and requires someone that is willing to teach both the technical skills and analytical theory, as well as perform the function.

Responsibilities:

Communicate with Senior managers and Analytics executives to understand business problems to be analyzed and ensure the analysts deliver the appropriate summary and data required.

Interact with business partners at operational management levels to understand, prioritize, coordinate, and deliver agreed upon deliverables.

Provide strategic direction that supports the delivery of insightful data to be used in driving complex business decisions or processes.

Hold associates accountable for adherence to our Single Process Inventory (SPI) process and following a change management structure within our risk framework.

The ideal candidate should possess a very high attention to detail and demonstrable accuracy of work product with an interest in understanding AML KYC/CDD policies and requirements.

Leverage multiple databases to acquire customer and performance data and develop subject matter expertise in Global AML.

Use data tools and techniques to find and deliver data from various sources of record.

Demonstrate ability to communicate complex ideas and outputs to business owners.

Required Qualifications:

5+ years of experience as Data Analyst, or similar role in financial services industry

4+ years demonstrating strong proficiency in utilizing data mining/analytics tools such as Toad, Teradata SQL Assistant, Microsoft SQL Server, and SAS

4+ years of leadership experience

Ability to interact and influence across all levels of the organization

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Highly motivated, proactive and a self-starter; strong sense of ownership & ability to create and execute plans without daily oversight

Control-focused mindset and relative understanding of regulatory and reputational risks by applying adequate business context for appropriate groups like audit, regulators

Ability to manage multiple projects at once by prioritization and meeting deadlines

Strong interpersonal and overall communication skills (written and verbal)

Must be flexible and have experience working in a highly matrixed, fast-paced & high-pressure environment.

Desired Qualifications

:

Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Finance, Marketing, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering or Economics)

Knowledge of AML and/or GB/GM businesses

Relevant experience on Client Due Diligence review on corporate clients, Knowledge of APAC regulations & prior Onboarding / Periodic Review (Refresh)
