YOUR ROLE:

As a

Staff Accountant , you will be a vital contributor to Avivo's financial integrity and success. You'll manage key accounting functions, such as preparing reconciliations, overseeing balance sheets, and leading month-end closing activities. Beyond ensuring compliance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards, you'll work closely with cross-functional teams to create efficiencies, challenge processes, and promote financial excellence.

This is a dynamic role with opportunities for collaboration, growth, and innovation in a mission-driven environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Preparing and posting monthly general ledger entries, reconciliations, and adjustments. Leading month-end close processes and compiling financial reports. Managing daily cash activities and accounts receivable for efficient cash flow planning. Acting as a key resource for credit card expense coding and reconciliation. Supporting program teams with financial needs and resolving account discrepancies. Assisting with audits, accounts payable reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives. Promoting Avivo's commitment to equity, undoing racism, and reducing disparities. Qualifications

WHAT YOU OFFER:

A bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Management (or an associate degree with 2+ years of experience). At least 3 years of hands-on accounting experience, including general ledger, reconciliations, and accounts receivable/payable. Proficiency in GAAP, month-end close processes, and advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPS). A solution-oriented mindset with critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
