Title:
Project Manager
KBR is seeking a Project Manager for a diverse portfolio of programs primarily focused on acquisition of training systems and devices but also supporting program offices supporting C-130, F-35, F-15, and other major platforms.
Position Description:
Responsible for technical/operational leadership of acquisition and sustainment projects/missions within the programmatic guidelines set by the program manager and customer. Will be instrumental in the development of acquisition strategy, market research, justification and approval decisions, and proposal process associated with training device acquisitions. Will work with program offices to facilitate AQ documentation and deliverables for ACAT I/II/II programs. Will also coordinate necessary efforts for aircraft modifications and upgrades. Defines, generates, and reviews project requirements documentation. Performs technical studies to refine project requirements. Monitors project to ensure work scope, schedule, and budget are well defined and maintained. Provides coordination between resource managers/supervisors and ensures all necessary reviews and approvals are received. May conduct performance/project analyses during phase-down to benefit future/other projects/missions/programs. Incumbents have professional experience before moving into this project role. Requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise. Interprets internal (Business Unit) or external business (Industry) issues and recommends best practices. Solves complex problems; takes a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions. Works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations. May mentor/run project teams within a discipline or job family. Requires depth and/or breadth of expertise in specialized discipline. Interprets internal/external customer challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services based on industry knowledge. Has expertise in DOD, Agency, and/or industry standards and engineering requirements, advises colleagues on interpretation of standards within the context of Group’s contract objectives. May advise multi-disciplinary teams or run projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity. Guides others to solve complex problems; uses sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgement and identify innovative solutions. Impacts the achievement of customer, operational, project or service objectives; work is guided by broad Unit/Division/Department policies. Communicates difficult concepts and negotiates with others to influence decisions. May have formal, but limited, supervision of team members at a department level to include verification of timecards, oversight of daily tasks/schedules and input into performance appraisals. May be the primary customer contact for assigned area of responsibility.
Required Education:
• Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Finance, Business, Engineering or a field related to program and project management
Required Experience:
DoD/DAWIA Level II (leaning to ‘advanced’ on the new “Practitioner/Advanced classification spectrum”) certification in Program Management
Requires 7 to 10 years of relevant experience with ACAT I/II/III programs
Desired Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Management, Finance, Business, Engineering or a field related to areas which require Project Management
DoD Level I+ certification in Financial Management
DoD Level I+ Life Cycle Logistics
Security Clearance Requirement: Current Secret clearance.
