The Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Lead Analyst is a senior professional role responsible for providing Investment Banking (IB) planning and analysis insights in coordination with the broader Finance team. The overall objective is to contribute to directional strategy as well as utilize in-depth specialty knowledge to provide advice/counsel on the evaluation of financial reports of Citi’s current and projected performance. Investment Banking products include: Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), Equity Capital Markets (ECM) and Debt Capital Markets (DCM).

Responsibilities:

Support the creation of financial analysis (Revenues, Expenses and Balance Sheet) to clearly identify financial trends and provide insights and drivers in conjunction with IB Wallet and Share analysis

Execute analysis to support the annual 3-year Strategic/Operating Plans, quarterly Outlook process, CCAR/QMMF PPNR forecasts, Quarterly Earnings, Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR) and Weekly Financial Update (WFU) in partnership with the Investment Banking (IB) LFO team, Corporate FP&A, Legal Entity FP&A and business/country Finance teams and the IB LFO team

Prepare analytics in support of CEO Reviews, including business initiatives

Analysis may include performance against Plan, QMMF, Outlook (weekly and quarterly), Prior Year/Qtr at the global, regional, cluster or legal entity level for all products and sub-products within IB

Develop and maintain relationships with key partners, including the IB LFO team, senior management, FP&A and Controller teams

Lead and/or support daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and ad hoc reporting, analysis and processes

Prepare presentations and analysis for the team supporting the Investment Banking LFO team and Banking LFO

Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision

Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy

Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members

Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency

Qualifications:

6-10 years of relevant experience

Proficient technical skills with a focus on Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and PowerPoint) applications. Tableau experience would be advantageous

Effective verbal and written communication skills

Demonstrated presentation skills

Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills

Education:

Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience

Master’s degree preferred
