Position Overview
The Finance Analyst role is a high-responsibility position in rPlus' project finance and capital markets group. The Finance Analyst will support the capital markets team on project financing transactions and related matters. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams, 3rd party stakeholders, financial counterparties, and investors to ensure the successful execution of debt and tax equity financings for rPlus' renewable energy projects. The person in this role is expected to be a highly organized problem-solver, innovative, independent, detail-oriented and self-motivated. The Finance Analyst will create solid relationships and create value for the company and its strategic investors.
General Responsibilities
Works closely with project finance transaction leaders to close 3rd party debt and tax equity deals to raise capital for rPlus' new renewable energy projects, deals are typically in the greater than $100M range Works closely with the project finance and management teams to build excel-based project models for rPlus' projects and M&A opportunities Builds and optimizes project financing debt and tax equity structures based on available market lending and investment structuresPerforms strategic and quantitative analysis to help guide project development decisions and corporate financing efforts, playing a key role in many top priority company initiatives Creates and advances various project finance deliverables including complex proforma models for stakeholders, sensitivity analyses and other standard deal presentations Assists with management of third-party financing providers on deal collateral, due diligence and documentation Prepares project and financing summaries for the management and board, typically in email or PowerPoint format. Attends and contributes to project meetings on project financial related matters and works with development managers to vet new project opportunities Works with operations and development teams to track legislative, regulatory and market changes that impact project financing opportunities Works closely with senior management on other special planning and departmental projects, including but not limited to project tax abatement efforts and insurance matters other duties as needed and assigned Skill Requirements
Bachelor's degree required, focus on business, finance, economics or energy and relevant business or technical coursework in project finance preferred Master's degree of CFA designation a plus 2-6 years of work experience in renewable energy project financing, tax equity, development or other equivalent experience Expert level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Expert level expertise in utilizing Excel-based financial models. Understanding of renewable energy project finance and tax equity structures highly preferred Strong knowledge of business fundamentals, attention to detail, techniques of economic analysis, and an interest in wholesale electricity markets, corporate renewable energy procurement and renewable energy development Exceptional written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal skills Candidates must have strong sense of responsibility and follow through What We Offer
