Financial Analyst I

Financial Analyst II

Financial Analyst III

Sr Financial Analyst

Lead Financial Analyst

Responsible for complex analysis of financial trends, creating budgets, forecasting future financial performance, and guiding strategic decision-making. This role involved significant coordination with various departments, ensuring financial processes are efficient and aligned with company goals. Acts as a best practice/quality resource for colleagues with less experience and guides others in resolving complex issues.

Responsibilities

Financial Analyst I

• Supports corporate departments, both within and outside of Finance, with generating forecasts in various business areas. Duties also include compiling budgets for corporate departments, taking into consideration actual performance, previous expenditures, and estimated expenses and income

• Provides limited assistance in the creation of financial models of "what if" scenarios for business planning decisions relative to new products, new territories, new projects, and other important aspects of the Company's business.

• Performs various accounting duties including preparing journal entries and preparing account reconciliations. Duties could also involve maintaining accurate spending records and establishing measures for budgetary control.

• Prepares basic reports and assists others in making recommendations to management.

• Performs research and studies as needed (examples include rates of return, depreciation, investments, and other areas as required).

• Performs other duties as assigned

Financial Analyst II

Duties also include compiling and reviewing the budgets for corporate departments, taking into consideration actual performance, previous expenditures, and estimated expenses and income.

• Assists in the creation of financial models of "what if" scenarios for business planning decisions relative to new products, new territories, new projects, and other important aspects of the Company's business.

• Performs various accounting duties including preparing journal entries and preparing account reconciliations. Duties could also involve maintaining accurate spending records and establishing measures for budgetary control.

• Analyzes income statements and prepares reports and assists others in making recommendations to management.

• Supports close process, research and projects.

• Performs other duties as assigned

Financial Analyst III

• Builds, maintains, and calibrates business models to facilitate effective planning, analysis and decision making throughout the organization.

• Build and maintain monthly, department level, driver based, expense forecast models; lead unit cost analysis to understand fixed vs variable expense

• Aggregates and organizes financial data from multiple platforms and systems; suggests procedural changes to increase the accuracy, effectiveness, and efficiency of models and reports used or produced by the team.

• Develops and/or assists in developing budgets, reporting, and forecasting of expenses, guides functional leaders in the expense budget process.

• Drives actionable information and advice to teams. Evaluates financial outcomes of various decision alternatives; advises on key business planning assumptions, identifies, and quantifies risks and/or opportunities.

• Supports close process and project reporting.

• Performs other duties as assigned

Sr. Financial Analyst

• Supports financial analysis on company administrative expenses which reflects the financial position of the company in accordance with legal and sound accounting principles

• Assists in developing budgets, reporting, and forecasting of expense for Medical Mutual Protect, guide functional leaders in the expense budget process

• Translate content needed for senior level presentations; ensure content provided meets requirements; assist in preparation of presentations for senior management

• Performs other duties as assigned

Lead Financial Analyst

• Leads and guides others in developing budgets, reporting, and forecasting of expense for Medical Mutual Protect, guide functional leaders in the expense budget process

Qualifications

Financial Analyst I

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a quantitative discipline

Financial Analyst II

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a quantitative discipline

• 2 years experience progressive accounting or finance experience

Financial Analyst III

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a quantitative discipline

• 4 years experience progressive accounting or finance experience

• Certified Public Accounting (CPA) preferred

Sr. Financial Analyst

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a quantitative discipline

• 5 years experience progressive accounting or finance experience

• Certified Public Accounting (CPA) preferred

Lead Financial Analyst

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a quantitative discipline

• 7 years experience progressive accounting or finance experience

• Certified Public Accounting (CPA) preferred

Technical Skills and Knowledge:

Financial Analyst I

• Intermediate Microsoft Office and financial systems skills

• Beginning knowledge of accounting rules and concepts and ability to apply the appropriate accounting standards to the relevant job duties

• Interemediate knowledge of Excel including pivot tables, V-lookups, macros and formulas

• Power BI (preferred)

• SQL (preferred)

• Intermediate Microsoft Office and financial systems skills

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
