Description

General Responsibility:

The Senior Accountant performs a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, fixed asset maintenance, accounts payable processing, and customer invoicing (including weekly, monthly and annual subscription billings). The position is also responsible for maintaining accounting best practices and procedures to ensure accurate, efficient and timely financial statement reporting.

Senior Accountant Job Duties:

Maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure and ERP system. Process and manage weekly, monthly and annual billing of hardware, installations and DEP's, including customer invoice corrections. Drive month-end and year-end close process - including meeting month-end close deadlines. Calculate sales and use tax on all customer invoices and ensure timely and accurate remittance to taxing authorities. Assist with year-end audit preparation and provide documentation as needed. Maintain a comprehensive month-end checklist. Maintain the general ledger and assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including meeting month-end close deadlines. Prepare, review and retain formal journal entries and account reconciliations with supporting documentation. Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including, bank accounts, accounts payable, accounts receivable, prepaids, fixed assets, etc. Review corporate credit card account and enter transactions into accounting software. Question unusual and/or large transactions. Obtain statements from vendors monthly to ensure completeness and accuracy of costs. Ensure matching of revenue and cost by product line. Perform gross margin analysis and assist in researching variances. Make 100% of Surgere customers "Raving Fans". Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 5+ years of accounting or relevant experience Demonstrated excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills are required. Understanding of and ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles. Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel Skills Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting functions. Demonstrated excellent attention to detail and organizational skills required. Proficient with accounting software and Microsoft Office. Must be self-motivated and able to adapt to a rapidly changing environment Core Competencies
