Job Title:
Accountant
Reports to: Director, Accounting & Finance
Position Summary:
This position assumes responsibility for the content and maintenance of the General Ledger. Ensure that all financial activity for all entities are in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Assist Accounting Manager with the financial closings and reporting. Maintain general ledger accounts and bank reconciliations for all accounts, specific organizational programs, and assist other Staff and Management with the overall strategic planning and objective for Accounting and Finance Department.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities: Maintain the general ledger, preparing journal entries (reclass entries, accruals, correctional entries), recording cash receipts and financial transactions. Process, reconcile credit card payments and code to proper account. Review/Prepare monthly account reconciliations Provide Weekly Revenue Reports to management Monitor all the bank accounts and research transactions as needed Research check inquiries and perform stop payments as needed File and remit taxes and other financial obligations General Accounting:
Analyze revenue and expense trends and ensure expenditure control. Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities. Assist with coordinating the preparation and distribution of specific financial & statistical period end, budget and board reports. Assist in the development of written policies and procedure manuals that are consistent with generally accepted accounting principles. Assist with the external audit by providing necessary financial information. Assist with the development and maintenance of accounting systems for financial transactions. Assist the Accounting Manager with completion of special projects SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field A minimum of 3-5 years of Accounting experience General knowledge of commonly used accounting concepts and practices Ability to analyze trends, financial data, and prepare financial reports Ability to retrieve and manipulate data from various platforms Proficient in Microsoft Office and Intacct Accounting software Good verbal and written communication
