Position Overview : The Principal Enterprise Architect in the Asset Management business unit will play a critical role in shaping IT strategy and architectural framework to support organizational objectives within Asset Management. Reporting to the Head of Technology Strategy & Architecture, this would be a key role in defining the strategic future of Asset Management. This position requires a balance between thought leadership and solutions consulting, and driving architecture in collaboration with enterprise partners and technical teams. Expectations would be to design robust architecture and help implement scalable, efficient, and secure solutions for Asset Management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Enterprise Architecture: Design and implement Asset Management architecture strategies in alignment with the organization's business goals. Define IT vision, elaborate strategic roadmap, and represent business architecture views for enterprise consumption. Adapt patterns and practices from Enterprise Architecture and collaborate in framework standardization and patterns documentation.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with business unit leaders, application teams, and Enterprise Architecture teams to implement Asset Management architecture. Engage with stakeholders to identify pain points, explore opportunities, and provide technology guidance to address business needs. Architect, design, and oversee technology solutions - keeping industry trends, emerging technologies, and industry best practices in consideration.
Governance & Risk Management: Establish governance frameworks to ensure adherence to architectural standards and compliance per regulatory requirements. Participate in architecture reviews and influence tools adoption. Implement security and risk mitigation strategies, ensuring solutions meet necessary compliance standards.
Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Mentor a team of architects and engineers, fostering horizontal leadership in a collaborative and innovative environment. Provide guidance on complex technical issues, offering practical approach and strategic solutions - addressing scalability, performance, security, and integration challenges.
System Integration & Modernization: Drive modernization of legacy systems, ensuring seamless integration with new technologies. Oversee the integration of diverse platforms, including cloud, on-premises, and hybrid infrastructures, optimizing the technology stack for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Documentation & Communication: Maintain comprehensive documentation of enterprise architecture, including system blueprints, business architecture, process views, and standards & guidelines. Communicate architectural plans and strategies to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 12+ years of Financial Services industry experience with focus in enterprise architecture practice. Strong knowledge of Asset Management, including portfolio management systems, trading platforms, risk management tools, and regulatory systems. Strong bias towards action. Relentless drive to deliver results, explore innovative alternatives, and collaborative attitude to work across boundaries. Experience with enterprise patterns, TOGAF / Zachman frameworks and strong understanding of Well-Architected Framework. Expertise in cloud computing, data management, messaging, event workstream, cybersecurity, and integration architectures (e.g., Azure, Snowflake, API Management, Microservices). Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with ability to influence stakeholders. Ability to envision the big picture, elaborate on the details, and articulate complex concepts with lucid visualization for business stakeholders.
