Zions Bancorporation is currently seeking a
Fixed Income Portfolio Manager
with the following qualifications to join the downtown SLC team.
This position is part of the Corporate Investments & Liquidity Management Team within Zions Wealth Management. This division is mainly focused on institutional clients (corporations, municipalities, foundations, etc.) The ideal candidate will have both portfolio management experience and a broad understanding of money market instruments including commercial paper, corporate floating rate and fixed-rate bonds, municipal bonds, agencies and Treasuries. Our client base is spread out across the Western US, with substantial amount in Utah, so an understanding of the Utah Money Management Act, as well as other State investment Codes in other states is a plus.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for managing assets within the specific parameters of the Investment Policy Guidelines for each account. Works with high profile relationships such as corporations, public entities, foundations, endowments and Not-for-profit Organizations. Monitors portfolios and analyze potential investment opportunities. Actively participates in the decision process for assigned accounts. Develops and executes trades consistent with investment strategy, portfolios' objectives and compliance constraints; manages liquidity to ensure funding needs are met. May participate in the Investment Committee. Works collaboratively with other Portfolio Managers to coordinate investment strategy and generate investment ideas. Conducts economic and fundamental research and analysis; contributes to fixed income sector, duration and quality strategy across products and portfolios. Provides insight and depth into credit analysis, surveillance, risk management, and identifying relative value. Builds on existing relationships and may in some instances serve as a relationship manager and primary contact with clients. Assists in creating portfolio analysis and reporting for presentations with clients. May mentor other team members as appropriate. Interfaces with compliance and operations team to ensure effective back office, trade settlement and governance processes and procedures. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications:
Extensive knowledge of fixed income portfolio management, including state investment codes and allowable investments. Ability to develop investment strategies and provide recommendations for changes or enhancements to improve investment results and processes. Must understand portfolio composition and construction. Strong communication skills and work ethic required. Proven analytical skills. Must understand Bloomberg functionality including yield analysis, optionality, electronic trade executions, ratings, and economic calendar and market moving events. Must be a strong collaborator and be able to work in a team environment. Must be detail oriented, be able to work under pressure and be detail oriented. Education:
Requires a Bachelors degree 4 or more years of portfolio management experience, investment grade corporate bonds, municipals, agencies and treasuries or other directly related experience. Experience in the fixed income sector is preferred. Series 65 or 66 securities license required.
